Donor Remembrance Wall:
Lifeline of Ohio is inviting our donor families to participate in our 2010 Dash for Donation as a way of remembering and honoring your loved one who gave the “Gift of Life”.
We encourage those Donor Families participating to bring two posters commemorating their loved one’s gift. We will be displaying one poster per family (weather permitting) at our Donor Remembrance Wall near the start/finish line and would love to have your poster there! It is a wonderful way to put a face to the heroes of donation.
The poster can include pictures, text, mementos, etc. but we do limit the size to a standard poster board (22” x28”) to help us get as many posters up as possible and to allow us to easily mount them on the wall. The second poster can be carried by the donor family during the race/walk.
If you cannot participate in the race, but would like to have a poster displayed, please drop it off at the Lifeline of Ohio offices by July 1, 2010. Don’t forget to include your name and phone number on the back so we can return it to you after the race. For more information, please contact Terri Louder at 614-384-7375.
Course Entertainment:
We are excited about the opportunity to provide our participants on-course entertainment to inspire on their trip around the course. We greatly appreciate the time donated by the following individuals, groups, and radio stations to help make the Dash for Donation bigger and better than ever, and to encourage more Ohioans to join the Ohio Donor Registry.
Audience:
The general public and those touched by organ and tissue donation and transplantation. This includes deceased donor families, living donors, transplant candidates, transplant recipients and the families of these groups.
Use of Event Proceeds:
Proceeds from this event are used to further Lifeline of Ohio’s educational programs for the communities in the 37 counties Lifeline of Ohio serves.:

Is there a deadline for the “I’m a Hero” pricing, and is it possible to get this rate if you register online?
Thanks!
Matt
admin
Hi Matt!
There is no deadline for the “I’m a Hero” pricing. When you go online to complete the form there will be a box that says “hero registration.” You just need to provide your driver license to confirm you’re a donor and you’ll be set!
See you July 10!
SJ

Thanks!
admin
Yes SJ there are port a johns along the half marathon course.

Is it possible for people at home to track our running progress online with the chips located on our race nuber?
admin
Chris,
No they cannot track your progress at this race. But we do have chips to accurately record your finishing time!
April
Hi! Just getting concerned about how hot it’s going to be… how many water stops will be available for the half marathon?
Cybele
Do you have suggested parking and if our team pre-registered, what time should we be there for the 5k? Thank you for all you do!! Cybele
Nicole
Terri, We are walking the 5k. My kids will be joining us, is it ok to bring a stroller?
admin
April, we have 5 total water stations on the course. It’s 2-loop course.
admin
Cybele, We suggest you park in the garage at the corner of Nationwide and Front St. The 5K starts at 7:45. Team pictures are at 6:30 if you’re interested. Thanks!
admin
Nicole, Your kids can ride in the stroller, but if they are not officially registered for the race, we can not be responsible if anything happens to them. Thanks.
Jeff
Can we get the low down on course support for the half marathon? Will and where along the course would you have Porta Pots, Water, Electrolyte Replacement Drink, Gel? Thanks and looking forward to a great day.
Karen
We have already picked up our packet at Front Runner. We are walking in the family walk. Do we need to be there at 6 am or can we be there in time for the walk? Thanks!!
Karen
admin
Karen,
As long as you’re there in time for the start of your walk/race, that’s fine. Thanks!
admin
Jeff,
There are 5 water/Gatorade stations along the course, and there are port a johns near those water stations. We’ll see you tomorrow! Thanks!
Stephanie
Is there a time limit set to complete the half-marathon? Thanks!!
admin
Stephanie,
Yes, you must complete an 18-minute mile. If you are not comfortable with that pace, you may switch to the 5K by going to customer service at registration on Saturday morning. Please note, the 5K starts at 7:45. Thanks!
April
Hi,
I have a few more questions…Are there mile markers every mile? Is the ongoing time displaced anywhere on the course? And are headphones allowed?
Thanks!
admin
April,
There are mile markers, but they may not be for every mile. There is no time display on the course. Headphones are allowed. Thanks!
Billy
Is there a course map available for the half marathon?
Karen
I have another question. Sorry?!?!
Are wagons for the kids allowed? We have a 6 yr.old and he sometimes gets tired of walking.
Thanks! Looking forward to tomorrow. Weather is looking good so far!!
admin
Billy,
Yes a map is available at http://www.runwildracing.com. We’ll also have maps on site at the race Saturday.
admin
Karen,
Wagons are fine … if the children are not registered though, we cannot be responsible. Thanks!
Kenyona
This is my third year. I don’t think there has been a bag check is there possibly one this year? Thanks
Angela
I am signed up for the 1/2 but I injured my knee. Can I run the 5K instead?
Gretchen Mcnally
Great race today! Very happy the finish was moved so it didn’t end w/ that horrible hill again!!!
admin
Thanks Gretchen! Glad you had a good time!
Lisa, Angela and Kenyona – sorry we didn’t get back to you! We were catching our zzz’s for the big race day! Hope you found everything you needed at the Dash OK. Thanks!
April
Hi! I had a great time at the race! Just curious when results get posted?
Chris
Where and when can we find out our time? Thanks.
admin
April and Chris,
Results will be posted to http://www.runwildracing.com as soon as possible. Thanks for joining us!
Billy
I saw on the Run Wild website that we were supposed to turn in our chips, but no one told us this and we did not see anywhere to return them. Will I still be able to see my time when it’s posted? Or will I be able to return the chip sometime later?
April
I’m worried I missed something that I was supposed to do to be timed… There weren’t any chips right? it was just the thing on the back of the bib and it didn’t need to be turned it right?
admin
April and Billy – the chips are disposable and did not need turned in. You will still be able to see your time listed on runwildracing.com when it’s posted. Thanks for joining us today!
Ron
Thank you for such a great race. The police and all of the volunteers made this such a wonderful experience. I am preparing for a marathon in September and wanted to run a half beforehand. This was the perfect race. KUDOS to all involved.
Sam
Thank you for a good race. I come back every year to race the 1/2 to support the cause, and b/c the course is deceptively challenging. I did like the course change in the 1/2 marathon. However, the areas where the 1/2 and 5K course intersected were quite congested. It is difficult, especially at the end of a race when runners are spent, to weave through much slower moving traffic. Is there any way in the future that you could define a clear lane for the 1/2 marathoners. BTW I heard a few other 1/2 marathoners both on the course and afterwards frustrated by this same issue.
Thank you and best success in the future!
Betty Crock
This is the first time I had ever participated in a walk like this—-It was so much fun.Our team will be looking forward to being involved again.
It was so well organized,we were amazed!!!
Keep up the good work.Such a good feeling to able to help so many people in so many ways!!!!!!
Pankti
Hi. I’m sure that this is a very frequently asked questions; however, I haven’t found the answer for it anywhere: where are the results and pictures posted?
Are they online or do we have to come somewhere to pick up this information.
Thanks so much
Pankti
Sorry. found the time results on: http://www.runwildracing.com/Results.asp?nRaceID=225
Do the runners get to see their pictures?
Marcelo Martin
My BIB# was 1776 and my time was about 20.10 for the 5K run.
Instead my name was shown in the result list with #1176 so I didn’t got listed in overall or 40-49 category result.
Thanks
Marcelo

Thank you for organizing a great race again this year. It is always heart warming to be a part of the race and witness the number of people touched by organ donation. As a mother of a donor, it is a reminder to me that I am never alone. We are looking forward to participating again next year with an even bigger team.
