OSU Student Group Illustrates Need for Donors
Did you know that there are currently more than 500 people waiting right now for a life-saving organ transplant at The Ohio State University Medical Center?
To show the dramatic need for organ and tissue donors, the Ohio State University Students for Organ Donation group will be hosting “In Their Shoes,” a shoe drive dedicated to showing students, faculty and staff the sheer number of individuals waiting for a life-saving transplant.
The group will display a pair of shoes in the Oval for each person waiting for a transplant in central Ohio. The diverse arrangement of shoes will represent the variety of people waiting for a transplant.
The event will take place on the Oval on The Ohio State University Campus Monday April 26, 2010 from 11:00 am to 5:00pm.
Stop by to drop off your shoes (any size or style) and register to be an organ and tissue donor!
In case of inclement weather, this event will be held at the RPAC. At the conclusion of this event, all shoes will be donated to local nonprofits helping those in need.
