Honey Bee on a Harley!

We had a great kick off for our Live On. Ride On.™ outreach Saturday, May 15 at the A.D. Farrow Co. reunion for bikers.

We registered six new donors, a fantastic start to the season and a testament to the giving nature of the biker community!  Honey Bee even made an appearance at the event, mingling with the crowd, dancing with the band and fulfilling her lifelong dream: getting on a Harley!

We always have a blast at biker events, but what touches me most is how many people come to our booth and share their connection with donation

One man told us about his liver transplant last July and he is back on his bike this summer thanks to his donor.  Another person stopped by to tell us about his grandson, who was out playing baseball that day because of a heart transplant.

I also met a woman who told me about her son, Derrick, who was a donor.  She wears her “donor family” pin and a patch dedicated to him to keep his memory alive.  Soon, she’ll add a Live On. Ride On.™ badge to her vest to honor the gift he gave.

You can honor all donors, by wearing a Live On. Ride On.™ patch or t-shirt.  Visit our booth at events this summer to show that you’re a registered donor or sign up on site to receive to your free patch or t-shirt.

Next stop: Roll On Columbus – Saturday, May 22 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion!

Mary — the event Saturday is a biker event and is $15 per person. You can buy tickets at the door. Check here for more info – http://www.rolloncolumbus.com. And Honey Bee won’t bee there … she was just promoting it as the next Live On. Ride On. stop! Thanks!
