Guest Blog: Lane Aviation Golf Tournament

The “Donor in You” Golf Tournament provides Lane Aviation with the opportunity to support a cause that has become near and dear to our hearts. The more we learn about donation and the more people we meet who have been touched by donation, the more honored we feel to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.

Donor Mom, Diane Knotts, talks to golfers about her son.

We know that the most important step in the donation process is to raise awareness - that has become the message of our tournament. One attendee of the event wrote to us, “Got my donor registration form filled out this morning; wow I went to an outing, and got a life lesson. …that was a real eye opener.”

If our outing can inspire one person to become an organ and tissue donor and they share that message with friends and family who pass it to their loved ones, think of how many lives we can save. One day we hope to play a part in changing the statistics; and that our efforts can lead to more heroes signing up in the Ohio Donor Registry.

What an outstanding golf outing. The donors and donor familes who spoke on the course and at the presentation made a significant impact on me and my understanding of the donor program. I see the value now from a personal side and will look into being a donor and telling others about this group.

Well done. Thanks for allowing me to participate.
