It’s Official: We Broke a World Record!

On June 30, 2010 Guinness World Records™ confirmed that Lifeline of Ohio’s Candlelight Vigil of Hope, Remembrance and Celebration held April 11, 2010 at The Ohio Statehouse, won a Guinness World Record™!

“The Guinness Word Record™ attempt was an effort to give donation a statewide platform and touch Ohioans who might not be aware of the need for organ and tissue donors,” said Kent Holloway, CEO of Lifeline of Ohio.  “The award is a reflection of central Ohioans’ support of donation.”

Guinness certified that 1,262 candles were successfully lit at the vigil, a new world record for ‘most candles lit simultaneously in a single venue.’ The event, held during Donate Life Month and coinciding with Lifeline of Ohio’s 25th anniversary celebration, was designed to provide hope to those waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant, remembrance for organ and tissue donors, and celebration for transplant recipients who received a second chance at life.

Lifeline of Ohio would like to thank everyone who joined us for this special event to celebrate the gift of life and shine a light on the importance of organ and tissue donation! Congratulations to us all!

Wow! Congratulations on yet another milestone for LOOP, who continues to reach and achieve new records in all areas of operation. This achievement not only demonstrates LOOP’s impact on the lives of so many people who want to pay it forward, but also bodes well for Loop’s new byline “Shine On.”
