Largest-Ever Dash for Donation Makes an Impact

Our 2010 Dash for Donation was our biggest ever, with more than 2,600 participants!  We would like to thank the runners, walkers, cheerleaders, mascots, volunteers and staff for making this celebration of the ‘Gift of Life’ a memorable one.

More than 80 teams participated in the Dash Saturday, July 10, including a group of Lifeline of Ohio staff members.  For them, this provided an opportunity to see first-hand the impact of their work in our community.  Below are some comments from the team:

I think this year’s dash was bigger and better than ever.  Each year that LOOP is able to grow this event, more people become aware of organ, tissue and eye donation.  Running and racing is increasing in Columbus, and it’s a great way to make people aware of LOOP’s mission.  – Jennifer Smith, Quality Assurance Specialist

By participating in the Dash, I feel I am contributing to the donation experience and helping to support Lifeline of Ohio’s cause.  – Brittany Nawman, Tissue Coordinator

It gave me chills to see teams honoring someone they loved who was a donor. It was really moving to be out there and  to see all the people wearing buttons and holding up signs celebrating their loved ones’ lives and the gifts they gave.   - Dorrie Dils, Chief Clinical Executive

I would very much like to know the final results. It must be somewhere on your site, but I cannot find it.

Race was great; reporting final results was lacking.

It was such a beautiful day and equally beautiful way for families to honor their loved ones. The posters always make me cry, but I am drawn to them to learn more about all the special people who walk/run for these couregous individuals. A big congrats to all who participated! LOOP you did a Great job again!
