Tuesday’s (Summer Swarm) Tale: How Honey Came to “Bee”
My connection to donation started the day I was born: April 1, 2009. The people dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation at Lifeline of Ohio had wished for a way to spread joy and educate people about the need for donors and *poof* there I was. I knew I was in the right place and could help create buzz about the need for donors!
One of my first appearances was the Candlelight Vigil of Hope, Remembrance and Celebration in 2009. It was so amazing to meet transplant recipients, donor families and see the power of donation right here in our backyard. I was really moved by all of the volunteers and attendees I met, and was excited for more opportunities to connect with the community.
My first year with the organization was a whirlwind, attending fairs, parades, family events, and hosting a Mascot Dash at our own Dash for Donation! No matter where I am, I am encouraging everyone to “bee” an organ and tissue donor and save lives by signing up in the Ohio Donor Registry.
I feel like I’ve come a long way in a year! I’ve worked with other donation mascots to hone my skills in the “Mascots on a Mission” campaign and I’m enjoying another fun-filled summer. I also added cute little Honey Bee dolls to my swarm, so you can help us spread the donation message by taking them out and about.
I’m really happy to bee at Lifeline of Ohio. I hope you’ll keep me in mind if you’re looking for someone to fly by your event to spread the donation message!

We loved meeting you Honey Bee at the Dash for Donors. You helped put a smile on the faces of my 4 year old girl and 7 month old boy. We lost my husband and their daddy a year ago and we are happy he was able to save 4 peoples lives! Thank you sooooo much!
