Touching Lives at the 10tv Expo

We had a wonderful weekend at the 10tv Health and Fitness Expo! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to ask questions and share personal stories. More than 50 expo-goers signed up as organ and tissue donors – wow! You are all truly heroes.

Angela Pace interviews liver recipient and donor family member, Suzy Crossin

Our overwhelming gratitude goes to 10tv’s Angela Pace, the host of the Donate Life testimonials throughout the expo. Angela helped us tell the stories of donation by interviewing donor families, transplant recipients and living donors and personally encouraged attendees to register in the Ohio Donor Registry! During one of the testimonials, a fellow presenter was so moved by donor mom Deb Sohovich’s generosity that he decided to give back – with a gift card for Deb to his salon so she can enjoy a day of pampering. What a lovely tribute for a deserving lady!

The expo was also a great chance for Honey Bee to buzz around, and we are delighted that her dolls are now in homes all across central Ohio. If you received one of her dolls, send a picture of that doll in action to media@lifelineofohio.org and we’ll add the pictures to Honey’s facebook page.

Thanks to everyone to helped make the 10tv Expo a huge success, and especially to all of the newly registered organ and tissue donors for giving hope to the 108,000 Americans waiting for a transplant.

Thank you so much for your kind words about the 10TV Health and Fitness Expo. But we should be thanking you for all you did to help make our first HFE a huge success. Your staff, your volunteers, your take-home materials were all top-notch. But it was the stories of your donors, donor families, and recipients that made the Donate Life stage and exhibit my favorite hang-out! Thank you for helping to make us look good.
