Tuesday’s Tale: A Big Heart

My dad, James Connor Clark, was an amazing man who loved life.  He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to ride motorcycles. He was good with his hands, and capable of anything. He was such a kind man and it was not unusual to find him helping a fellow neighbor or over at the school fixing school playground equipment. A Chance to Ride On

I joined the Ohio National Guard back in the early 90s because my dad was in the military and growing up it was always something I wanted to do. After graduating from Officer Basic School, I applied to pilot training and soon learned the serious nature of a pending illness. A standard physical revealed that I had unusually high blood pressure and my plans quickly changed. Further tests revealed that my kidney function was deteriorating and, eventually, I would need a transplant. Read More »

Hispanic Heritage Month

Today marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, a celebration of freedom for the Hispanic community in the U.S.  The annual event, which runs from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, jointly commemorates the independence of Cost Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, all observed on Sept. 15, as well as Mexico and Chile, both countries that gained independence in September.  The month is observed through celebrations of Hispanic culture, contribution and heritage across the country. “The Donor in You” Golf Tournament

On Sept. 1, 2010 Lane Aviation and members of the Lane Aviation-sponsored Donate Life Council presented more than $5,900 to Lifeline of Ohio to assist with general educational awareness. The money was raised this past summer at Lane Aviation’s golf tournament, “The Donor in You.” Read More »
