Training to “Bee” a Winner
I am about a week away from the Kids and Mascots Dash! I am so excited to join 15 of my furry friends to promote organ and tissue donation in downtown Columbus next Saturday.
This is my third year in the Dash for Donation and I want to run the best race I can! I’m racing with some seasoned mascots, like Cookie and Brownie from Cheryl’s, Clawdette from Columbus State Community College, Stinger from the Columbus Blue Jackets and many more.
What tips do you have so I can “bee” a winner? Post your training advice for me in the comments section of this blog by 5 p.m. EST and you will be entered to win your very own Honey Bee doll!
Five commenters will be selected at random, so make sure to tell your friends to share their expertise for a chance to win.
And, it’s not too late to register the little ones to run with me and my friends or sign up for our 1K or 5k! To learn more, click here.
I hope to see you at the Dash for Donation on July 9!
Buzz and Kisses,
Honey Bee

Remember the reason we are doing the dash! I’ve been a registered organ donor for a number of years, but also know someone that I’ve worked with / for over 25 years that got a liver transplant 6 years ago. Anything that can be done to bring awareness to organ donation is important!

It’s really important to drink lots of water when you exercise. Especially in the summer. Also if you are training when it’s very hot you can also drink sports drinks to help replenish fluids.

Spread the word and awareness about what lifeline of Ohio is all about. Tell everyone to help save a life or lives and become an organ and tissue donor! And in greek, Melissa means honey bee! Which I love and support!

!) Get plenty of rest the night before.
2) Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated day of race.
3) Wear comfortable shoes and wear lightweight clothing day of race.
4) Keep a positive attitude and remember that it doesn’t matter if you finish first or last. What matters most is that you are doing this to promote the AWESOME cause of Organ Donation and you are a winner just for BEEING involved!!!!
