Challenge Lost, But Everyone Wins
The Buckeye-Wolverine Challenge for Life trophy will not be returning to Ohio.
I could feel really bad about it, but only for a moment. While the gridiron rivalry between the two states is intense and competitive, the Challenge for Life is truly one in which everyone wins. The real victory is that during the Challenge nearly 169,000 people registered as donors for the first time in Ohio and Michigan! The hope that brings to more than 112,000 Americans awaiting a life-saving transplant transcends any piece of hardware that can sit on our shelf.
Kudos to our Michigan colleagues! Keep up the good work – and we will do the same by sharing the amazing stories of gratitude and selfless generosity that touch our lives every day.
Our fight to save lives is not limited to a just a season. The challenge to register organ, eye and tissue donors goes on 365 days a year. So whether you wear scarlet and gray or maize and blue, you can still register as a donor today.
Now about The Game. Ouch. That loss hurts. But there’s a new coach in town and revenge will be sweet when the Wolverines come to our house in 359 days. The rivalry lives.
