Columbus, OH – Several individuals and institutions were honored Saturday, March 5, 2011 by Lifeline of Ohio for their roles in saving lives through organ and tissue donation. Fourteen awards were presented by the federally-designated organ procurement organization at the ninth-annual ceremony, “An Evening with the Stars,” in Columbus, Ohio. Columbus, OH – Four local hospitals and Lifeline of Ohio were part of an elite group honored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) on Nov. 3, 2010. Columbus, OH – While the Buckeyes and Wolverines are gearing up for a gridiron face-off, another battle is brewing off the field: The Buckeye–Wolverine Challenge for Life.
In its fifth year, the life-saving competition is designed to motivate fans across the states of Ohio and Michigan to save lives and register as organ and tissue donors. Columbus, OH – For more than 120 years, the Tournament of Roses Parade has been an American tradition. Lifeline of Ohio, the organ and tissue recovery agency serving central and southeastern Ohio, joins the national campaign to celebrate and honor the lifesaving gifts of organ and tissue donation as part of the seventh annual Donate Life 2010 Rose Parade Float, New Life Rises. The float will be in the 121st annual Tournament of Roses Parade on Friday, January 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. EST in Pasadena, CA.
New Life Rises will include a phoenix–the mythical symbol of life coming out of death–rising into the sky representing those who give life in their death and the people whose lives are renewed by their gifts. Adorning the bird’s tail feathers are 76 floragraphs–portraits created with organic material–of deceased donors who gave life to those in need. In addition, donors from across the country are memorialized in a garden of dedicated roses, with each rose vial carrying a personal message of love, hope and remembrance. Read More »
