5/8/08 - The Hayden Rd. Bureau of Motor Vehicles agency in Dublin, OH. was awarded the Donate Life Ohio “Organ, Tissue and Eye Donation Front Line Award” for the fifth year in a row for recording the highest percentage of people saying “yes” to donation and placing their name in the Ohio Donor Registry. While statewide registration shows that approximately 52 percent of all Ohioans sign up in the Ohio Donor Registry, the Dublin BMV had a rate of nearly 70 percent in 2007.
Two other agencies in the Lifeline of Ohio service area were also recognized as leaders in their respective districts of the state. The Pickerington BMV received honors for District 2 with a registry rate of 62.9 percent, and the Delaware agency on Rt. 23 was the best in District 5 with a 69.5 percent registry rate.
The Pike Co. BMV was awarded the Most Improved Agency in the State of Ohio with a 10.5 percent increase in 2007 Ohio Donor Registry rates.
Local individuals personally touched by donation and transplantation participated in the award presentation changes. This award is as much a commendation of the generosity and compassion of the citizens of Dublin, Delaware, Pickerington and Waverly as it is to the outstanding commitment of the BMV that serves them. Congratulations to all of the agencies honored, and thank you to the BMV staff for their role in saving lives!
