Lifeline of Ohio community outreach / partnership coordinator Lauren Fitting presents organ and tissue donation information to area clergy who attended the co-sponsored educational day.

4/4/08 -- “My religion does not support donation” is one of the most commonly cited reasons why people say “no” to organ and tissue donation. To combat this myth, Lifeline of Ohio partnered with Genesis HealthCare System to host an educational seminar for clergy and hospital chaplains on April 3, 2008.  Lifeline of Ohio invited over 500 individuals from the hospital’s five surrounding counties.

Highlights of the day included a donor wife and heart recipient's personal stories, an organ and tissue donation overview, and a look at the importance of the clergy and chaplains roles in the donation process.

In addition to providing the program, Lifeline of Ohio was able to supply attendees with materials on donation, educational brochures and written materials by different religious organizations.
