The Gift

It's been a year to the day When my whole life was almost taken away.

But in time of grief and despair someone gave the Gift of Life. Through a family's love for the one they lost, A heart was given to my father. I will never be able to repay the cost For this Gift of Life to the one I almost lost.

I will always be thankful for the love They shared with someone they didn't know. The gift meant so much to me, So I will pray They keep the love they shared with my family. That their life will be as blessed as mine. May they look to the future with hope and not fear.
